Yes because if code were capable of those things the argument that "AI isn't creative and can't create anything new" wouldn't be applicable. I get what you're saying though, and it's why I push back against people defining themselves by their roles. The magic is within you, not your physical role :)

And just like that, the "Steam does nothing and wins" narrative is in the mud. Valve do a lot more than most other companies in similar positions, they're just a lot less talkative and realize the best use of their time is spent actually doing the work required and allowing it to speak for itself.

Wrong.

That's because you're now part of the culture that is being countered. You adored it when it was the older generation who were just "resistant to change", "stuck in their ways", or "boomers" worried about the effects of the internet, social media, and mobile phones...

Something to think about.

no no, the risk for her not agreeing wouldn't be catastrophic enough for such tactics to be effective - this is for those pesky extras and "no names" who can't afford to negotiate given the choice of accepting less or nothing at all. Y'know, the kind of scary people who talk about unions and stuff

Don't forget the implicit: "you two should collab sometime (and it goes without saying that I will be highly involved and, of course, will be present for the initial Zoom meeting where we both will meet Kanye West for the first time)."
October 1, 2025 at 11:24 AM
I mean, putting it like that, at least the rule sticks no matter how much money you throw at it at whatever level, I suppose? I'll take that over the amount of money you spend directly translating into predictable and repeatable success every time so that your pockets are all that count, literally

My God, he's an intellectual.

I expect the next game to do away with credits entirely and just end with "Mike Bithell et al."

It's Dunning–Kruger, man! Two people!
August 25, 2025 at 5:11 PM
you can't just fucking thwart me back to my childhood like that without warning. my fragile neck, mike.
August 20, 2025 at 12:00 AM
one thing im confused about is the religious part? you kept saying it and I was expecting you to get to that and explain what makes them a religious organization, and you just... didn't? I looked them up and still couldn't see anything that means they operate on religious principles? I missed summin
August 6, 2025 at 2:05 PM
hold on i can't move past them using a regular ol' cartoon punch sound instead of a frying pan dong for the hit just yet... THE ONE IN THE GAME IS SO SATISFYING
July 31, 2025 at 10:09 PM
I just can't fucking believe it. I genuinely don't think I'm ever going to be able to play a game again after this. They've killed it for me. don't care what their views on "Back to the Fooker" or "Incest Tales" are... John Wick Hex was just a step too far. Now *that* was a touching experience.

have u asked
July 18, 2025 at 3:11 AM
the "or nothing" part is a bit silly u gotta admit lol otherwise i agree
July 17, 2025 at 8:42 AM
and those who keep saying "It's vague because it's just a citizen's initiative, official legislators will look into it to judge its validity/write a more precise law if passed"

When the legislators raise the same concerns as ours, will you still say "that's not what the initiative actually says!"?
June 27, 2025 at 3:02 AM
An alternate universe, where every law has to be written as acrostic poetry:

"After looking deeper into it, this appears to entail X."

Policymakers: "No, it actually doesn't say that at all if you just read exactly what it says. Stop misrepresenting what it actually says and over-complicating it."
June 27, 2025 at 3:02 AM
saying that about the gaming industry is honestly laughable, you are actually asleep at the wheel lol, especially with the open-source direction it's heading.

bet you'll want all the regulation there too eh
June 25, 2025 at 12:47 AM
Well if he's going to publicly respond to those criticisms by handwaving them away, convincing his followers that they're unimportant - yeah, that's unacceptable, regardless of whether i think it will go anywhere officially (it wont), he's manipulating public perception.
June 25, 2025 at 12:44 AM
Yep. I'm not worried. It will never pass. I just don't like his avoidance of the contentious aspects that would end his 15 minutes.
June 25, 2025 at 12:41 AM
No, which is why I'm not worried about it at all. I just think Ross is not behaving in good faith and avoiding and potential showstoppers regarding his little tirade. He'll be forgotten about in a year.
June 25, 2025 at 12:38 AM
You still have the responsibility to answer for the consequences that your initiative would cause. You don't get to hand-wave it away just because you didn't think that far ahead to consider it. His refusal to engage with those consequences by simply claiming they're besides the point is horrific.
