Oh, the irony.

Have had a twinge on biting on the back left for a few days now, after inadvertently crunching on an olive stone.

Last night, the lingual cusp fractured off.

Why didn’t I seek help sooner? 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Did you know, globally, 13% of children experience dental anxiety?

We are currently running a 4-year RCT of a guided self-help CBT intervention to reduce dental anxiety in children.

The trial includes 600 children in 30 primary dental care sites in the UK

I reckon the Tories knew full well that the ‘recovery plan’ would fail.

It was the old “Look, we’ve offered the greedy dentists all of this money and yet it’s not enough for them.”

The last notable time this happened was under Labour in 2006.

Governments don’t recognise the value of dentistry
A report from the National Audit Office shows the dental recovery plan is failing in both the number of dentists doing NHS work and people receiving help from them.

This echo's what we hear from people who struggle to access NHS dentistry. #FixNHSdentistry

To clarify, NHS dentistry in England is definitely not a franchise
I understand that they are all a franchise. As is my nhs dentist. I was expressing that I did not understand the situation in England well and that I did not understand the patient experience

Interesting article about fluoride, prompted by the forthcoming new Presidency.

I still think there’s a need for supplements in the water in areas where OH is poor due to lack of access, poor understanding or frank poverty.

The US is sounding the alarm on fluoride in drinking water - what's the story in the UK?
Donald Trump's government will likely push for the complete removal of fluoride from public water - a practice that has been going for 60 years to counter tooth decay. But what is fluoride, and why ar...

These days with all of my post-retirement ailments, I no longer describe myself as an ex-dentist when I’m asked what I do for a living. (Amazing isn’t it? I still look young enough that people believe I might be capable of work).

The best description I can give is - ‘I’m a symptom.’

Does the trick

Have you ever known someone for nearly 25 years, then forgotten their name?

It happened to me last night in a theatre - a couple of ex-patients. I was too embarrassed to go up and say hello. At one point, I toyed with the idea of posing as a kiosk vendor in the hope I wouldn’t be recognised.
