It's been almost 6 months since they defeated the Elderbrain. Everybody seems to have found a purpose in life. Except Maeva. Should she stay with Halsin and become a 'mummy' to the refugees (something that frankly terrifies her) or leave and find her own adventure? Maybe with her best friend Astarion, down in the Underdark... 'I'm going to miss you.' It was true. And not just as a friend. They'd been good together in battle too, their movements and weapons enhancing each other like a paired set of steel blades. She bit her lip. And they had fucked - as he so eloquently put it - twice, until she'd had a flash of conscience and finished that particular source of enjoyment. Sometimes she was such an idiot. Maeva (Tav) and Astarion kissing in the Underdark Maeva (Tav) Drow talk, hot water and spawn trauma. 'The map is now in my possession.’ Minthara pulls the folded directions out of a pocket and flourishes it at Yousen. 'I have too many memories of never-ending meanders in pointless, repetitive circles while following Maeva.' Yousen chuckles. Maeva glares at them both. 'You are an outstanding warrior and a formidable negotiator. However, your navigational skills leave a lot to be desired.’ Minthara shudders as if remembering a particularly horrific example. ‘But we cannot all excel in every area.' Maeva mutters under her breath. 'At least I'm not scared of clowns.’ 'I am not scared of clowns. I merely find them an unnecessary burden on the imagination.’ Minthara nods at the servant who has accompanied her for the last few days of her visit. 'Lead on.' Maeva can’t help smirking. 'It's lucky that your sense of direction is so developed, Minty.’ ‘And take Violet.’ Yousen gives his sibling a little push towards them. She hangs back a little until he gives her an encouraging nod.

'Just friends. if it's somehow lesser. As if a friend isn’t something special or important. And you were important. The most important, even when we were "just" friends.' He huffs, then clears his throat, a little embarrassed. Gods. This relationship stuff. There really is an annoying amount of awkwardness involved. Maeva’s eyes soften. 'You're so sweet. I never, ever thought of you as less important. You were ... are... much more than that. I didn't mean it in that way.' 'I know you didn’t.' Astarion leans into the hand reaching across to stroke his face. ‘I’m just feeling starved of attention.’ 'You're worse than the cats.' Maeva cradles his cheek.

Ellandra blinked at the iron lamp-post, its magical glow casting a flickering halo of light onto the delicate snowflakes that fluttered and floated around it. The ground was a blanket of crisp whiteness, and the sound of murmured conversations ebbed and flowed from somewhere nearby, punctuated by peals of laughter and happy exclamations.  The spicy aroma of cinnamon, apples and warming alcohol permeated the air.   Was that... jingling bells?  Disoriented, Ellie took a step back and watched as a sleigh - pulled by a transparent silvery unicorn - zipped and weaved in her general direction. Two red-faced, hysterical dwarves and an extremely merry troll skimmed by, waving tankards and singing something loud and gleeful. They cheered and sang louder as they veered round her, narrowly missing a bolting squirrel, its red bushy tail flicking panicked puffs of snow behind it. Astarion is standing on an upturned barrel/table. He looks very confused. A variety of Tavs stand around looking up at him and chatting. Red and green sparkles and light snow are in the back and foreground.
