The SAVE America Act is a voter suppression bill that would place a massive burden on voters and election officials just months before the pivotal 2026 midterms.

It’s a “nightmare” bill for voters and administrators alike.

Sec. Shirley Weber, PhD is right - despite all their claims, the GOP has been unable to provide any evidence of widespread voter fraud. Our elections are already free, fair, safe, and secure.

Did you change your name when you got married? There’s a good chance the House GOP election bill will make it harder for you to vote. Everyone who believes in Democracy must hold the line against Republicans’ blatant attempts to disenfranchise eligible voters.

#ICYMI: Six Democratic Secretaries of State from #Connecticut, #Maine, #Minnesota, #Oregon, #RhodeIsland, and #Vermont sent a letter to GOP congressional leaders last week denouncing two voter suppression bills: the SAVE America Act and the Make Elections Great Again Act.

"The SAVE America Act is voter disenfranchisement masquerading as election security. It compromises voter privacy and would not add any additional security to our elections -- while creating barriers for eligible voters." — Steve Hobbs, Washington Secretary of State

It's more than criticism. This bill is a dangerous step toward voter suppression, & it's going to make it harder for regular people to hold politicians accountable. I'm going to keep ringing the alarm bell and pushing back against federal overreach. https://bit.ly/46NFBGw #ORpol

Nationalizing elections is a blatant violation of the constitution and we the people will not stand for it. As governor, I will work tirelessly to protect the people of Maine just like I do every day as Secretary of State.

Trump is a highly unpopular president - consequently, he is growing more extreme. MAGA Republicans want to silence the American people and suppress the vote. They will not succeed.

We will fight any attempt to suppress voting. Americans will be able to make their voices heard in November.

Thank you to Oregon’s county clerks and elections staff. I know how tough your job can be, how long the hours can be and how the scrutiny can feel relentless. It's because of you and the people you work with that Oregonians across the state get to hold governments accountable.

“I'm not arguing that it violates the law. It does.”

As your Secretary of State here in Arizona, I will always follow both state and federal law that charge me to protect your private sensitive data.

🚨🚨🚨 Trump threatened Friday night to forcibly enact the SAVE America Act via executive order - “whether approved by Congress or not!”

Let’s be clear: he has no authority to do this. His last attempt to control our elections was blocked - and this one will be, too.

Today, we reflect on the foundations that keep our nation strong: the Constitution, the rule of law, and every eligible American’s right to have their voice heard.

Even as these pillars face constant attacks, Democratic Secretaries of State will stand firm.

Happy #ValentinesDay! Nothing says love like protecting the right to vote. 💌

🗳️ The SAVE Act is Trump’s latest power grab to restrict voting as he demands to “nationalize” elections.

FBI raids, threats to surround polls, and intimidation of election officials make it clear: In 2026, the right to vote will demand a fight to vote.
The SAVE Act and the Election Power Grab
The revived bill is a serious threat to voting rights.

Protecting the right to vote isn’t optional - it’s our duty. Every decision, every policy, every action is guided by the Constitution, the rule of law, and the principle that every eligible voice counts.

"The retaliation is the federal government says, 'Well, if you don't give us this, then we won't give you that.' That kind of childish play on state and federal resources is really undesirable and unpresidential." - Sec. Shirley Weber, PhD

Trump’s approval is hitting historic lows. Americans are sending a clear message: no nationalization of elections, no handing over unredacted voter data, and no voter suppression bill.

The so-called "SAVE America Act" is a voter suppression bill.

America's elections are already free, fair, safe, and secure - that's why Democratic Secretaries of State like @tobiasread.bsky.social are speaking out against the voter suppression "SAVE America" Act.

The SAVE Act is a terrible solution in search of a problem. Not only would it make it nearly impossible for citizens to vote-by-mail, costing all of us time & money, it would make voting harder for married women & anyone who can’t take time off work, or drive, or walk to vote.

🚨🚨🚨 The House passed the SAVE America Act last night.

It’s not about election security - it’s about making it harder for eligible Americans to vote.

The Senate must stop it.

SAVE America Act facts:

🚨 Rural Americans could be forced to drive hours just to vote
🚨 94% of Americans use voter registration methods the bill would block
🚨 140 million Americans don’t have a passport
🚨 69 million married women don't have an updated birth certificate

State election officials are facing mounting pressure - from Trump’s DOJ suing states for private voter data, Trump calling to "nationalize" elections, and the GOP reintroducing the SAVE Act.

Democratic Secretaries of State like @shennabellows.bsky.social will be ready for anything. 💪
