This was a hard part of lightbox expo; animation students about to graduate would ask me how to “break into the industry” and get art jobs, and I had to tell them I didn’t break in and how important dayjobs are, and they just seemed so discouraged by that answer ☹️

Very, very few comic book creators can survive on just the money they make from comics. It is an inherently unstable job and it is only getting worse as time goes on. Don't ever be embarrassed or ashamed of needing another job so that you can keep making comics.
Not being able to make a living just from your art doesn't make you a failure as an artist, it just means you're a totally normal working artist.

FALL ANIME SEASON FIRST IMPRESSIONS!

Yep, it's that time again. Follow this thread as I watch the first episode of virtually everything in the season.
The 'Dog' (it is definitely a Tanuki although I'm only acknowledging that for the sake of alt text clarity and otherwise will maintain the joke of them being a dog forever fyi). It's eyes are unseeable due to the dark facial markings they have. They have a leaf on their head. They are holding up a little notepad that says "eh?" in Japanese.
