I notice he didn’t include his own name or the names of other Republican politicians in the list of people to be investigated. Also, from released emails, Epstein at least partially cleared President Clinton.

Not only was the point of the shutdown for Republicans to hide the Epstein files, but they also wanted to give millions of dollars to 8 GOP Senators because they were under investigation for involvement in January 6.

Democrats didn’t cave or call for kumbaya, despite what Senator Shaheen might have implied. Dems effectively used the leverage voters gave them Tuesday to reshape the shutdown narrative: Trump controls the GOP, people want their subsidies, and the midterms are near.

Be angry at the one Independent and nine Dems who voted Yes, but remember who the real monsters are: Trump and the Republican Party. They were never going to give in on the ACA subsidies, no matter how many people starved or how bad the economy imploded.

Moderate Dems are ready to back a temporary deal to end the shutdown. I don’t love it, but real people are hurting, and Republicans are fine with that. They’re cruel. They're monsters. Anyone who thought this could drag on forever was kidding themselves.

Last week, I visited an H-E-B that is about 7 miles from me. They were fast and efficient at checkout. Today, I decided to go to a Kroger. They were not fast and efficient. I had a quarter of the amount of groceries that I did at H-E-B. I can't wait for them to open in my city. #heb
