Should You Share That Post About Dementia? 🤔

It’s easy to hesitate, worrying about losing followers. But here’s the reality: Approximately 150 million U.S. adults—nearly half of your followers—have experienced dementia through a family member, friend, or coworker.
What healthy food do you genuinely enjoy eating?

Past studies have linked strong MIND Diet habits to up to 50% lower Alzheimer’s risk.
Now randomized trial data are starting to show biological signs that support these benefits. Could what you eat today help protect your brain tomorrow? 🥬🍓

👉 When this blood marker drops, it’s linked to more amyloid in the brain and higher Alzheimer’s risk.

🚨 Groundbreaking 3-year study just dropped: This Diet may have STOPPED progression of Alzheimer's

Participants following the MIND Diet (leafy greens, berries, nuts, healthy meats, olive oil) showed stable plasma Aβ42/40 levels — while the usual-diet group had a significant 2.8% decline.

We heard you! 😊

We will stay on Bluesky and tweak our approach to this platform. We genuinely hope that people have been assisted and educated and encouraged by our posts on brain health and dementia prevention information. 🧠
We have found the Bluesky platform to be limited in terms of sharing detailed information without tediously making threads.

Let us know if you want us to keep posting on Bluesky by hearting this post. Gonna need 20 hearts to keep this going here.

Just found out that Bluesky does NOT throttle posts with links. 🤯

We will definitely be reviewing our currently Bluesky strategy.
January 27, 2026 at 4:14 PM
Yes, at least on the other platforms we get views…I think all other platforms actually.
January 27, 2026 at 4:10 PM
Our goal is to be in multiple languages. We currently test post in mandarin and Spanish on X (poor 1st choice because X is outlawed in china lol).

Over the next few months we want to roll out wider language adoption and try to direct people to the main account, which is the one we monitor.

We thought these platforms SEVERELY throttle posts with external links…though we do try to post links to the articles we review…but these are usually pubmed sites, so this would be easy for platforms to know this is science related (so please don’t throttle).

Maybe we’ll have to try. Blog -> Link
January 27, 2026 at 4:06 PM
Do you think people would follow the link to Facebook or X?
January 27, 2026 at 3:32 PM
Will look into that. 🙏
January 27, 2026 at 3:31 PM
Thanks James. Indeed. Very challenging to fulfill our mission with AI based throttling and sharing, and then the different platforms on top of that.

W/ Bluesky we can’t even see how many views our posts got, just the hearts. So if a post has 0 hearts we don’t have any evidence that it was seen.

While the assay is effective for ruling out E4 alleles, confirmation via genotyping is still recommended for the most accurate results in the case of E4/E4, especially in individualized interventions contexts. 🧠

The evaluated plasma apoE4 phenotyping assay demonstrated perfect accuracy in detecting the presence or absence of an E4 allele. However, it did not reliably distinguish E4 heterozygotes from…

🚧 Some misclassification of E4 heterozygotes as E4/E4, which is a big change in dementia risk (incorrectly going from 20% risk to 60%).

Based on these data it would make sense to consider including this in regular blood work orders but only a binary result: E4 not present or present.

The study involved 104 plasma samples with known APOE genotypes, comparing results to traditional DNA genotyping. Key findings include:

A recent study evaluated the diagnostic accuracy of a blo*d plasma test for apolipoprotein E4 (apoE4) in assessing Alzheimer's disease risk.

Bluesky makes it tough and time consuming to make an informative science post. Anyone else find it tough to get good info without having to mess with a thread?

We have updated our social media profile logo and profile header. What does everyone think?

Yes, apparently the liver and brain are essentially indistinguishable at about 20%. Good catch!

Specialized tracking is key to adapt treatments as the disease evolves—driving better outcomes and longer independence.

⚠️ One critical caveat: Early diagnosis can spark depression (common in up to 40% of cases), which may accelerate disease progression.
