It's shocking and dismaying that MSM "world news" is anything but. I haven't seen a decent report on Syria, South Korea, Ukraine. I'm an American and I have to go to BBC America to get coverage. If you think we don't need to know about the rest of the world, you need a history lesson.

Aging is something every human has to go through if they reach a certain age. Yet we do not know how to prepare for it and go through it with grace. Mental health is a strong key, yet we aren't managing it well. As a disabled senior, I fight every day to keep positive and survive. Much less thrive.

31 nations around the world have had universal health care since before the year 1995 (Israel in that year.) The United States of America does not. It's mortifying that our "great nation" cannot consider health care a basic right of citizenship. And now it's about to get worse. Help.

Book Club today discussed People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks. I love her deep research and stellar writing! It's an awesome portrayal of people of differing faiths and cultures coming together in adversity. I now need to read up on the history of the Bosnian war. Study history, y'all!!

Yesterday was the Holodomor Remembrance Day in Ukraine, marking the national tragedy in 1932-33 when Stalin forced a famine upon the Ukrainian people that resulted in millions of deaths. How many Americans know about this? I did not until I took an interest in Ukraine after 2/24/22. Never forget.

I'm noticing that most of my feed is opinions and commentary, much less news. I normally go first to the Bird to get up to date news, but not all those news accounts are over here on the Butterfly. Any suggestions of news accounts here, especially if liberal, progressive and pro-Ukraine??
