Day 18 of what I read last year. The hero is actually a villian but he forgot. Great concept, lots of fun

Day 17 of things I read last year. This was unique, not quite like anything I have read in the past but I liked it. I read a few books by Japanese authors this year and enjoyed them.

Turns out my travel mug keeps my tea so hot that I've travelled where I'm going and back before I can drink my tea. Job well done mug

Day 16 of what I read last year (I know I should stick to the same explanation every day but I'm not) made me laugh out loud and made me think of Mid Century Modern on Disney+ since they're both comedies set in Palm Springs with strong gay male leads with found families & they make me laugh so hard

Ours finally bloomed. It is over 2' tall.

15th day of things I read last year. I loved these characters and of course I loved the baseball. The banter and the POV of the male MC cracked me up. When he deals out the Tshirts like cards 😍

Day 14 of things I read in 2025. Delightfully fun Mary Poppins for grown ups kind of tale. Fun characters, a dash of magic and a talking raven.

13th day of what I read last year. This is the follow up book to my Christmas Eve book from 2024. Senior citizens making it right, one heist at a time. I enjoy Scandinavian humourous novels

12th day of things I read last year. I originally read this in grade 10 and reread it several times since. Warlocks, politics, science fiction, all mixed together. I've read all the follow up books as well.

11th day of books I read in 2025. Librarians, helpful priests, cats and demons. What fun! I read a couple others from this author too and hope there's a direct sequel to this one.

10th day of books I read in 2025. I grabbed this at National Indie Bookstore Day at my local store, read it, then promptly read the rest of the series. Victorian pirate ladies (who stay out of the sun to prevent freckles) with flying battle mansions & proper teatimes

9th day of Things I Read Last Year. I read 4 of these but 4 don't fit in the photo very well. Cozy mysteries w/ dragons. I was laughing out loud. Ladies of a Certain Age that don't take orders. Intelligent detective inspectors. Cookies, tea & dragons. I read them & think of my mom & Scottish aunties

This whole series was a warm and snuggly read with funny characters. My favourite of the series is probably Pumpkin Spice Cafe which I also read last year or the new one which I read this year.

Installment 7 of Things I Read Last Year. My favourite part of this one was the supporting characters. I'm a sucker for endearing supporting characters. I read the sequel too and enjoyed that as well

This is probably cheating but I read all 3 of them last year & the 4th this year. Cozy stories with kind characters just living their lives like the rest of us, some hapoen to be elves, etc. I've tried some of the recipes in the back & highly recommend the chocolate chip cookies with sea salt.
January 7, 2026 at 5:55 PM
Reminder these are in no particular order here is the 5th installment of books I read in 2025. I like a mystery and I like a historical romance and this mixes them together.

The 4th installment of Things I Read in 2025. This was fun. The characters were relatable. The twists on our modern conveniences and hang ups were new and Clare made me laugh every time he was on the page. Looking forward to the next book.

Went to an Indigo/Chapters store yesterday with my family and I have never seen such a crowded bookstore. It was loud too, not in a bad way but in a people excited to chat about books and be out in a brick and mortar store with friends way. It was awesome.

In no particular order, here is my 3rd post of books I read in 2025. Picked this up at Fireside Books in Parksville. If you're ever in the area you should go. This book is clever & funny & if you've ever had to deal with a PTA or PAC you will recogize these people, even if yours had no magic ability

My son gave this to me for Christmas 2024. It, along with Legends & Lattes, kickstarted my new love of cozy fantasy. I've also read the sequels to both this and L&L. I've jumped right into cozy fantasy as mentioned in an old post & have since read many of the recommendations from that post so thanks

I think throughout January I'll post some of the books I read in 2025. According to my borrowing history, I read 36 library books last year. I also read many books that I purchased, borrowed from my son (the most well read person I know) or already had. Some, like the one posted, are rereads.
