Scotland’s vast energy resources should be in Scotland’s hands, so we can deliver lower bills for people and businesses.

🧵 People across Scotland are struggling - money is tight, bills are up, and hope can feel in short supply.

My job is to focus on your priorities, deliver real action on the cost of living, and offer hope for a better future.

Short thread on how we will do that. 👇

The Westminster system made people poorer with austerity and Brexit - and now it’s trying to distract from those failures by scapegoating people who have been through unimaginable hardship.

It is pathetic, it is cowardly and I will have no part in it.

Energy bills are already too high - yet under Labour, they’re going up again.

They promised lower bills, but today’s hike means bills are £187 higher since they took office.

In energy-rich Scotland, this is indefensible. Only independence can deliver lower bills for good.

🥀 Before the election, Labour promised to lower energy bills by £300 - but now they’re skyrocketing.

With independence, we can use Scotland’s energy resources for the benefit of Scotland’s people. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Every time living standards fall, Nigel Farage blames migration.

And every time, Keir Starmer nods along.

People are struggling with the cost of living and blaming migration won’t fix that.

Scotland deserves better - a fairer, wealthier, welcoming future with independence.

Labour promised cheaper energy bills, but instead, they are £150 higher than this time last year.

People will go into this winter struggling to heat their homes. In an energy-rich country, that is unacceptable.

Westminster won’t fix this – but with independence, Scotland can.

Always a joy to visit the sunny North East of Scotland. 🌞

As I travel around Scotland, I see first hand the great potential of our people and economy, but also how we’re held back by Brexit and damaging Westminster policies.

The real change we need is independence.

I am so desperately sorry to hear of the death of George Reid. The last surviving SNP MP from the 1974 upsurge, he was an outstanding Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament.

His was one of the voices that persuaded me to support independence.

Sir George Reid, former SNP MP, MSP, Scottish Parliament Presiding Officer, and award-winning journalist, has passed away aged 86.

FM John Swinney and Depute Leader Keith Brown have paid tribute to a true giant of Scotland’s independence movement.

Scottish smoked salmon is fantastic and much loved across the world.

But Brexit has made it harder to export and Westminster’s immigration rules are hurting businesses like Associated Seafoods in Buckie.

With independence, we can rejoin the EU and grow our economy.

Scotland’s NHS was built on fairness and equality, yet Westminster keeps the door open to privatisation.

Only independence can guarantee it stays public, free and protected.

Only independence can keep Scotland’s NHS safe from privatisation - Clare Haughey MSP — Scottish National Party
As long as Westminster is in control, Scotland’s NHS will never be fully safe. Only independence can guarantee it remains public and free for all.

I want to live in a Scotland where no child grows up in poverty.

Child poverty is falling in Scotland, because we’re choosing to act.

But only with the powers of independence, we can transform our society and end child poverty for good.

People in Scotland are best equipped to decide what kind of country we want - not Westminster politicians.

Just look at the disaster of Brexit, austerity and soaring energy costs under both Tory and Labour governments.

The real change we need is independence. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
