Please ask your MP why @educationgovuk withdrew subject knowledge enhancement grants for RE when 27% of religious education 2024/5 recruits secured a place on condition of that grant? RE missed the target by 22% so surely no grant means fewer recruits? @NATREupdate @bphillipsonMP

I posted recently congratulating teachers of RE about the narrow disadvantage gap for A level RS. Here’s another fun fact: Disadvantaged pupils are twice as likely as their peers to choose to study RS at this level! Here’s the evidence #TeamRE @natre-update.bsky.social

Following discussions here about the smaller number of As & A*s in RS, this data from 2023 shows the disadvantaged gap (ie difference in performance between disadvantaged pupils and their peers) varies significantly between subjects. Well done #TeamRE @natre-update.bsky.social #makingadifference

Although most Humanities saw a decline in entries, the drop for RS in England is one of the smallest at 1.5% #TeamRE @natre-update
