Deeply committed to dialogue, deliberation, democracy. Deeply dismayed by current state of all of the above.
Today’s Lectio 365 reading from Habakkuk hits differently for me: “Woe to him who builds a city with bloodshed
and establishes a town by injustice!” #Lectio365 #prophetic #injustice

Fun way to engage with the Lenten season: Lent Madness! It's not too late. Download bracket & play! I'm taken by Yvette of Huy and Mechthild, who called out corrupt leaders ("stinking billygoats!") and saints new to me, like Hiram Kano and Zenaida. Link: www.lentmadness.org

My sister sent me this news story. On the one hand, I'm encouraged to see people speaking up/out in Shasta Co. On the other hand, so sad to see "militias" in my home state.

Hundreds Gather for "No Kings" Protest in Redding – Shasta Scout
The protest's title was a nod to the democratic principle that no one, not even a sitting United States president, is above the law.

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu at the House hearing on sanctuary cities:

"If you wanted to make us safe, pass gun reforms. Stop cutting Medicaid. Stop cutting cancer research. Stop cutting funds for veterans. That is what will make our cities safe."

Just re-read Duncan Morrow's lovely tribute to Derick Wilson, and brought tears to my eyes (again). Also inspired me to find new ways to be a peacemaker. www.facebook.com/duncan.morro...

What can I say, where do I begin or end in talking about Derick Wilson, my dear friend and vital colleague who died yesterday? This will be long. It has to be, but it will still be far too short....
