Just finished this one from Ryan Burge. I’ve read all his books (even been a peer-reviewer for a couple) and this one is my favorite. Clear, accessible description of American religious trends and their implications for politics. Church groups could read this and benefit.

Here's my idea for voting in the next election: decisions are made based solely on each candidate's @goodreads summary.

A simple assessment of how Christlike you are might come from honestly assessing which people would feel comfortable having dinner with you...and which would not.

I've noticed a genuine problem. My students don't trust "the media." What's problematic is this: when they think of "the media" they think of tiktok, instagram, etc. in addition to other sources. No! Social media is not "the media"! They need a shortlist of reliable sources.

Reminder: Nothing is inevitable. Don't fall for the lie that it is. If you don't like something, don't participate in the system that enables it. Recruit others to join you.

The current administration may succeed in making America whiter, but it will certainly fail in making it more Christian. You don't become Christian by acting anti-Christ.

White House yesterday: Deport 100 million people, they don't belong here.

White House today: Look how happy all the Venezuelans who live in America are. We are justified.

White House tomorrow: Yeah, we're still gonna deport 100 million people.

The reason the right hates words like "de-colonization," it turns out, is because they are pro colonization imperialists. #venezuela #greenland #nextnation

Part of AI resistance is accepting that humans have limitations, and embracing those limitations.

As the federal government puts up Bible verses and makes "Christian" statements, let me remind you there is a significant body of social scientific theory and data suggesting that using the government to sponsor one religion actually makes the country LESS religious, not more.

Say it with me now: Gen Z is not the most religiously devout generation in a hundred years.

The report below is of "churchgoers," not the general population. It shows a minuscule difference in Gen Z vs. millennial, and reports raw data only. So, it doesn't account for health status or other variables that affect attendance. IOW, the color commentary is wrong.

What I want most for Christmas is based American Christians to realize that while they think they're building Zion, it's the cornerstone of Babylon they're laying down.

I'm so happy. I drove my Trump-Dodge to Trump-Starbucks where I'm on my Trump-Dell writing w/Trump-Spotify in the background. My Trump-children and Trump-wife are thrilled to live in the greatest Trump-country in the Trump-world. Trump-God is happy, too!

If you're a white male and are NOT willing to give up some of your privilege to boost and benefit others, you missed some moral training along the way. If you think equal treatment will eventually level the field, you don't understand the effect of cumulative disadvantage.

Instead of going to a national park on Trump's birthday, may I suggest going to a Black history museum, buying a book or album from a Black artist, shopping at a Black owned business, or watching a Black film. Instead of getting something for free, let's learn and support.
