Red Fox pouncing on prey.

This tactic is also known as "mousing", where the fox will leap high into the air and then dive headfirst into the snow to catch voles or other rodents. It's a lot of fun to watch, and in my experiences... they're usually quite successful. #wildlife #photography #redfox

For some reason I've only ever managed to see mink in British Columbia. This was one of my earliest sightings, from the Great Bear Rainforest. Mink are often seen scouring the rocky shorelines for crustaceans and other treats. We happened to be puttering by in a Zodiac when we spotted this one.
