We don’t yet know what motivated the person who shot and killed Charlie Kirk, but this kind of despicable violence has no place in our democracy. Michelle and I will be praying for Charlie’s family tonight, especially his wife Erika and their two young children.

If you can't feel bad for your enemies then you aren't a functioning human being. The ability to sympathize for another person regardless of your opinion of them is a sign of a healthy empathetic response. If you can't feel that in some small way, you NEED professional help. You might be a sociopath

I also want to randomly give kudos to @leavingmaga.bsky.social for his work. Obviously I've been around this space for a bit longer, and I will say that what he and those whose stories he has helped promote have done has been a wonderful job... very inspirational to me even 9 years after my exit.

I would say we need a platform more dedicated to conversations... but on the Ole message boards, we had deep conversations easily. It's how we are using these platforms...

Too many men's respect for women is gone. Just because we want to be treated as equal beings does not mean you have to give up your ability to be kind or helpful. Women may be strong in many ways, but physically, and while holding children and carrying bags, still need help on occasion.

I mean... all lives matter was never about anything other than trying to remove race from the conversation.
Some of it came from a genuine belief that talking about race would help keep racism alive... a good chunk was also from disingenuous actors wanting to justify their racism consciously.

As they are growing up..more often than not, it's an authoritarian household. They grow up seeking the approval of the person who controls them...to win the approval of the authoritarian is to prove yourself to them.
That mindset then translates to the current system 1/3

They go out of their way to vote against their own interests and to vote for people & policies that will harm them because they want to see their enemies suffer.
It just occurred to me that Trump's denial of Medicaid for many of his cult followers will leave them without legitimate medical coverage & they will resort to "wellness" scammers- those who wouldn't qualify for Medicaid payments. The snake oil salesmen figure to benefit more than anyone here.
