Though not the biggest fan of Occupy Democrats, they had given me the opportunity to publish my mea culpa that I was leaving MAGA, & acknowledging my mistake of supporting MAGA, Trump and my governor, Ron DeSantis. I never thought anyone would care that I left MAGA.

One of the reasons I say that online isn't quite real life is because those who traffic in extremities are not reflective of our population, as a whole. The most extreme tend to be often online, I suspect.

I initially downplayed the significance of Jan. 6. Though I didn't support what had happened, I thought that the press, Democrats and anti-MAGA Republicans and conservatives made the day into a bigger deal than was warranted.

Having lived a MAGA life for 7 years, I’m unsurprised by anything that has happened this year. Perhaps that is cynical of me to say.
But I'm still optimistic headed into 2026, because I believe that more and more in the MAGA community are having doubts about their support for Trump & the movement.
