Livingston Parish, Louisiana seems to be moving away from a democracy and more to an authoritarian rule. The parish council leaders and the Library Board of Control seemingly are taking on Joe Abercrombie's The First Law series, written between 2006 and 2009.

Here's the problem with our parish, the majority of the Republicans here are racist, bigoted, & "holier than thou" individuals.
Mrs. Bart is an outstanding citizen & a veteran of our military. Our parish was once a blue parish, but now, it's far-right.

As of tonight, If you are under 18 in Livingston Parish, you won't be allowed to check out "Perks of Being A Wallflower" or "Me Earl and The Dying Girl". It's just two as of now, but a lot more are coming.
Some spoke tonight about outright banning some out of the library completely.
