my favorite part of a hallmark christmas movie is the ten minutes of exposition at the beginning where the characters look into the camera and explain to us who everyone is, what their jobs are, and what their relationships are to each other so they can get to the cute stuff.

i’m a city girl for life, i bet you don’t get a car of men shouting “fuck you bitch” to a woman for pushing the crosswalk buttons and then legally crossing in a small town! and then shouting back “there’s a crosswalk!” while they peel off down a street with a 30mph speed limit. i love it personally.
