Whenever we think we are responsible for the good things in our lives, or we feel lucky, rather than blessed, we are missing the presence of God in our lives.

It’s not the end of the world. He will wait for us to catch up and realize it was always Him.

Jesus is ever loving and ever patient.

I just made some pasta e fagioli and I wonder if any friends would like to come over and help me eat it? My pride in my beans and pasta overwhelms my diaconal humility.

Tonight I’m listening to Scriabin’s Piano Concerto in F Sharp minor. Beautiful. It’s an early work so it is influenced by Chopin. It is simply beautiful but you can hear the twentieth century approaching (he composed it in 1896).

Try it, you’ll like it!

Is it so surprising that Peter and the others thought that Jesus was a ghost walking across the lake? We will think of any weird and silly thing before we grasp the fact that Jesus comes to us whenever we are in trouble.

Holy Spirit, give us the gift of faith.

The faith journey is a wondrous trip to take. Every day brings new sights and sounds, new people and new things about people we know. Each day brings new ways to be closer to God and new ways to push God away. It’s a journey that I want to share with you. Together we can get to where we need to be.
