Spending less time in spaces that make me feel bad (this website) and more time in spaces that make me feel good (crawlspaces) has been a boon for my general outlook and attitude.
My wife made me stop calling them party packs.
To balk at 5600 tampons is particularly silly, that's only a bit over 100 tampax mix packs!

Year end best of lists are always shit shows but for the NYT to pick Ed Sheeran with 7 string guitars is taking it to a completely expected level of pretentious mediocrity.

Syncretism is a beautiful thing
This Christmas, the lovely goyshe family that I married into has decided to include Chinese food and a movie into their traditional celebrations.

God is good. Merry Christmas to all!

Holiday pro tip: "Hide the uncle under every pillow you can find" is an s-tier game for nieces and nephews. They stay busy and I get to rest.

It's the holiday season, I'm not reading Sally Jenkem's brain dribblings.

You (a newborn): crying for a bottle while I'm generating wealth by pumping a meme coin with chatgpt powered twitter bots. We are not the same.

I know there are no details out yet but I do know I will spend several hundred hours not finishing Medieval 3 campaigns after it comes out.
Now that it's December I can bust out my personal holiday tradition of meticulously pre-planning, starting, and not finishing a new Total War campaign

It's way too early for all this Christmas stuff to be up everywhere. Yes, even the Santa hat on the 12 foot skeleton.

I like it less the day after, the Acting of the third act detracted from the overall film because it revealed the production, almost like an uncalled for 4th wall break.
We caught the new Knives Out tonight.

Pairs well with popcorn and a glass of wine. Worth a watch, unlike the 2nd one, but they could easily have cut 20 minutes.

The 3rd act was way too self indulgent.

Late 90s, installed Debian or Slackware on an already old Compaq, mostly for gcc.
28 years ago, I learned about this amazing thing called Linux.

I immediately drove down to Best Buy and bought a boxed set of Red Hat 5.0. Probably the best $50 I've ever spent!

What was your first Linux distro?

Crawlspace posting.

I guess it's reasonable for subfloor crossbracing to need a bit of TLC after 80 years but all this crawling is tiresome.

Everybody loves to hate Lars Ulrich but guess who DOESN'T have any sex pest allegations?

If it weren't for the Napster lawsuit and if he was a better drummer people would love him.

This thread is worth reading (or rereading) on World AIDS Day.
I don't think I've ever talked on Bluesky about why I hate the Foo Fighters and Dave Grohl.

Don't read any further unless you're prepared for uncomfortable truths about the "Nicest Guy in Rock", and his very substantial body count & subsequent cover-up.

The situation is a little difficult to describe textually, so here is an approximation of the turdjectory that the team member managed to set in motion. There is one corner of the platform that does not have a wall and that's the one that they hit.

The testing department has deemed the current design for my litter catcher insufficient.

We have an automatic litterbox (because we have 4 cats) and to make keeping the bathroom that it's in a bit cleaner I built an entrance/platform thing out of scrap wood that they use to access the litterbox.

Went through my bandcamp email folder for other reasons and got punched in the gut by a receipt from a friend who died less than two years after buying a download for a fundraiser.

Fuck cancer. Fuck it to hell. Fuck the monsters who are butchering research.

God ate my homework and now it's your problem.

You can't have an academic environment of any worth whatsoever if grading sub-high school level writing as such gets the teacher in trouble.
OU has put the professor here on administrative leave:

Sometimes I wonder if seminal Boston street punk band The Bruisers named their debut album "Cruisin' for a Bruisin'" because they were cool and familiar with slang.

My walking to school uphill both ways was shoveling the driveway in the morning, then again after the snow plow plowed us in, and then once more at night.
my wife grew up in Southern California and one time we were in Boulder and we went out to dinner while it was snowing and had to scrape off the car on the way there

I will never forget her outraged "what do you mean we have to do it AGAIN" when we came back to the car after dinner

I have nothing against you or your regional culture but there is an unbreakable spiritual bond between anyone who has ever had to scrape ice off a windshield while hungover
