Old photo for a new season. I've been working away in my studio, but quiet on social media lately. The shift toward autumn always makes me feel like starting projects, though, and I've missed interacting on here, so I'm going to try to post more this September. Thanks for following along!

Snails and an apple from the recent soda firing.

New pots from a soda-firing. Pretty happy with the porcelain pieces in this firing. I also might be addicted to shinos now. I need to figure out more regular access to a soda kiln. #sodafiring #canadianceramics

Currently photographing pieces. I often put it off, but then once I'm in it, I appreciate the time to really look at the work. The camera serves as a bit of distance that's really valuable for learning from my own work, I think. How does everyone else think about time spent documenting their art?

Magpie platter.
I absolutely love magpies. They somehow seem both mysterious and otherworldly and yet are also completely familiar.

I tend to go through distinct palette changes, usually corresponding to the season I'm in (or sometimes the one I wish I were in). This wintery pitcher makes me think of frosty mornings just before the sun comes up. #pottery #ceramics #pitcher #silverwhitewinters

Looking back through older work and decoding I definitely need to revisit these box style vases.

I grew up in a very windy part of the country, close to Lethbridge, Alberta. I laugh sometimes when anyone calls it windy where I live now. I think these leaves swirling in the breeze show a kinder, gentler wind; more playful than forceful. #zephyr #pottery #contemporaryceramics #tableware

Just saw that ceramist HP Bloomer is facing cancer treatment. Read more at the link. None of us like to ask for help, but he's had to do a Go Fund Me. If you're able to help, any donation is helpful. www.gofundme.com/f/support-fo...

I'll be posting more pieces over the next bit to get settled over here. Taking the opportunity to go through past pics and think what I'd like to revisit and refine further. The emerald on this mug has me sighing for spring in my chilly part of the world. #mugs #potterymugs #contemporarypottery
