Beautiful people, it's my birthday so I'm dropping the price of both paperbacks to €8.50 for at least the next month. Maybe longer if I forget to change it. But wait, there's more! Are ebooks more your thing? Don't want to support the big retailers? We've got you covered - thanks to Ron of Temple Dark Books both my collections are now available through SFI (Speculative Fiction Ireland), and at €2.99 are wallet friendly and everything. Get them here! I have some copies of What Gets Left Behind in stock (as in, upstairs in a box) that I can send to Irish addresses.

I just won't be able to sign them. Meanwhile, I'm delighted to say that What Gets Left Behind has already made its costs back, even at this early stage and following a soft launch. I have plenty in stock still, with more available.

What Gets Left Behind
From Irish writer David O'Mahony comes a collection of tales loosely bound by the things we and others leave behind them after death, whether that be emotional trauma, bodies trapped in ancient sarcophagi, spirits trapped in endless loops, or ancient entities awakened after long slumbers. What Gets Left Behind, a companion to his first collection, The Ties That Bind, includes tales of the living dead, demons, vengeance, dark fantasy, and ghosts. His second anthology, it gathers together published and unpublished work, including the stories Losing Your Grip, Contain and Control, Whispers of the Wooded River, and the novelette A Winter's Wrath.

Reminds me of when I asked it to tell me about my history research and it invented a list of articles I had supposedly written

My novella WIP is about to hit 16,000 words and I've just magicked up a passage that could be worth a 2,000-word story or flashback. I'm thinking it'll be close to 30,000 once the first draft is done and I've started filling in the gaps I've left myself as a surprise/landmine (delete as applicable)

Brilliant protest. Yosemite National Park workers hung an upside-down American flag — traditionally a symbol of distress or a national threat — thousands of feet off the ground on the side of El Capitan.

One story for submission to a UK anthology finished, one for @gravesidepress.bsky.social needing another quick read, two older unpublished stories getting a dusting off and expansion to ship off for submission... never underestimate the motivational power of just finishing something
