Acredito que um dos papéis cruciais das redes sociais na era da pós-verdade é que elas trazem as mentiras, que sempre existiram, até mesmo em grande escala, mas que nunca saíram da periferia do debate público para o centro da atenção e do debate.

A produção da mentira sempre foi relativamente artesanal e seus meios de propagação eram relativamente lentos.

As redes sociais aceleraram a propagação da mentira, criando o negócio da pós-verdade.

We saw a similar situation in Brazil. When X/Twitter was fined & subsequently suspended, it was not an act of censorship; rather, the Supreme Court was enforcing a law passed in 2014- a widely known and long-standing piece of legislation that platforms have been required to follow for over a decade.
Don't let anyone tell you that the Commission's DSA enforcement against X is about speech or censorship.

That would, indeed, be interesting. But this is just the EU enforcing some normal, boring laws that would get bipartisan support in the U.S. (I bet similar bills *have* had that support.) 1/
