My take on AI is straightforward: the machine learning plagiarism industrial complex is not sentient. But the fish who have lived on earth continuously in one form or another for half a billion years & who are threatened by AI’s water consumption & climate change impacts are. I choose the fish. 🐟

This community named itself after Flores Magón, one of the most important (anarchist) revolutionaries of the Americas you might not have heard of
Journalists speak on the repression of & resistance of the Mazateca community to a power grab in Eloxochitlán de Flores Magón in Oaxaca, Mexico beginning in December 2014, plus the related case of #MiguelPeralta and the recent death of #YorchEsquivel.

The first published article, and it’s a powerful one, in a special issue breaking ground on how to theorize infrastructural sabotage with (hopefully) an essay from me as well
Is infrastructure sabotage always a destructive act led by seditious individuals? no
my new article in Human Geography studies Colombian public sector workers ‘breaking’ infrastructure to oppose privatization in 1992, and argues sabotage can reshape policies, politicize society & more

National highways have been shut down, cutting key transport routes and effectively splitting the country into parts. Tractor convoys are moving through major towns and cities, and border crossings, ports and airports have been occupied for hours.
