In the Future All Food Will Be Cooked in a Microwave, and if You Can’t Deal With That Then You Need to Get Out of the Kitchen
In the Future All Food Will Be Cooked in a Microwave, and if You Can’t Deal With That Then You Need to Get Out of the Kitchen
As a restaurant owner - I'm astounded at the rate of progress since microwaves were released a few short years ago. Today's microwave can cook a frozen burrito. Tomorrow's microwave will be able to cook an entire Thanksgiving Dinner. Ten years from now a microwave may even be able to run the country. Recently I was watching a livestream of a local microwave salesman.

The "AI Snake Oil" folks are very convincing in their perspectives. This headline does not follow Betteridge's law lol

I read a lot of technical blogs and I wish more had a rule like the above. Aim for between 65-75ch would be my advice, based on your font's width.

Figma clearly wanted the tool too feel familiar to their current users, so that became one of the key features.
The problem is that Figma is not a tool for designing websites.
It is a tool for drawing pictures of websites.

wooahh Figma's new Sites thing produces no semantic HTML at all. Every single element is a div. Incredibly inaccessible

Why don’t romance novels ever feature a male love interest that works as a product designer? It’s always cowboys and hockey players.

I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.
18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it.
We made this website to tell our story:

3 months in learning Colmak keyboard layout!
Unlocked all the keys typing 35wpm!
I'm averaging around 55-65wpm for general typing tests and slowly getting my accuracy back up as well!
Before the switch, I was typing around 75wpm but since getting back over 50wpm it has all felt pretty normal.
