Our Alexa likes to announce "Good news..." and proceed to sell the virtues of some new version of Alexa, etc. I tried to tell Alexa I don't really consider that good news. Good news would be something like "Alex Bregman has re-signed with the Red Sox." Did not compute. #RedSox #tech

I like the "MLB gift wishes" in the middle of today's column. Autograph days; turn down the volume and a day when everyone can get on the field to play catch for $15. #baseball #MLB
Sunday Baseball Notes now posted at BostonGlobe.com.

Leading off this week: The Yankees hope to get more out of Ben Rice by keeping him at first base. Plus Garrett Crochet was actually unlucky last season, the Braves rebuilt in a hurry and much more:

Alright, @socialcapitalinc.org is getting an award at the upcoming local Chamber gala. Time do some shopping for what I'm wearing. Wish me luck - shopping for clothes is pretty far down on my list of things I want to be doing! #fashionchallenged

Probably...my 20 y.o. son said that feature has been available for a while. I need him to teach me a proper course, I'm probably missing a lot of features that could be handy!

Hmm, not sure how long this has been possible...

But just realized I could search all the photos on my iphone to find a picture of a certain wine, based on it reading the text on the label. #techsky #winesky

Typically by the time the Series rolls around, I am strongly pulling for 1 side and/or rooting against the other. While I was rooting for the Jays, there are many #Dodgers I like (especially Mookie!). So wasn't sad to see them win, and what a comeback!

What an amazing game last night! Capping what has been one of the most entertaining MLB playoff season I can recall...at least ones without the Red Sox as serious contenders! #WorldSeries

While in many ways, in my lifetime, America hasn't been more divided than it is now. However, there are signs that the majority of Americans are concerned about extreme #polarization, and want to work across differences to address common goals. More here:

Lots of people are focusing on #socialconnection!

The Princess of Wales wrote a piece on “The Power of Social Connection in a Distracted World”, along with Dr. Robert Waldinger.

"Attention is something we can choose to give each other in every moment."

The @nytimes.com article headline about recent survey on #polarization has the pessimistic take that our divisions can't be overcome to solve the nation's problems.

Some silver lining - there's some bipartisan agreement that our divisions are a serious problem.
