Politico is reporting he will announce his resignation on or about December 19. He has no desire to return to the office.

I totally think he believes it. Don't forget the minion who follows him around toting a portable printer, producing whatever favorable coverage can be found.
At this point, I wonder if he isn't lying when he says he has "my highest Poll Numbers, ever" since it's entirely possible that's what his aides are telling him. It's quite likely that there's an entire Potemkin village built around Trump right now.
