Dabbling in Copilot...

It's a big deal to me when software companies use their own platforms, and it shouldn't be a surprise that Microsoft's finance team uses Copilot for internal activities.

Good read with several different opinions.

My concern is more related to the dot com bubble. I haven't read much on the actual value that orgs are getting out of it. I get that it's early, but I need to see some real ROI here man.

Are we in an AI bubble? Here's what analysts and experts are saying
The euphoria is drawing comparisons to the dotcom bubble of the late 1990s and the 2008 financial crisis.

Most people learn how to manage projects by struggling through it. We built Foundations of Project Leadership to make it easier. It’s packed with real-world lessons - what works, what doesn’t, and how to navigate the in-between.

Module 1 is complimentary and always open at learn.dataprepu.com

Every now and then, I come across a tool that solves a problem I didn’t know I had. I’d love to know - what’s a tool or trick that’s quietly changed how you work? Doesn't have to be flashy - just something you’d miss if it disappeared. Thanks!

Has anyone used AI for GIS-style analysis? I'm thinking about things like drive times, radius calcs, distance analysis, etc.

Curious if anyone has real-world experience using AI to handle this kind of work. Would love to hear if it was worth it, or if you prefer a traditional tool.

If you’re tired of figuring out project leadership the hard way, Module 1 of Foundations of Project Leadership is still open and completely free.

It was built for technically-minded professionals who want to lead with confidence, without turning into a PM.

I’ve been thinking about this lately - what makes someone a “good” analyst? Is it their technical skill? Communication? Curiosity? Or just knowing how to ask the right questions at the right time?

Would love to hear your thoughts. Or am I even asking the right question?

Can someone explain to me in practical terms how you’ve leveraged kubernetes and how it works? Not looking for deep technical architecture, just real-world examples. Thanks!

As AI evolves (hello, GPT-5 👀), I’m not worried about developers being replaced—but I do think the role is shifting.

Less about cranking out code, more about design, context, and judgment.

AI is just a tool. The value still comes from the person leading the work.

Most people learn project leadership through real-world struggles:
Unclear goals. Confused teams. Burnout.

We built Foundations of Project Leadership to give you the structure, tools, and confidence to skip that struggle.

Getting back into development has been so much fun for me. I'm learning new tools, such as Monday.com, Buffer, and Microsoft To-Do. We use a few other go-to tools to keep everything moving as well, but I'm curious: what’s in your stack that I'm missing? I’d love to hear what’s working for you.

Learning to lead customer projects shouldn’t require years of trial and error. That’s why we created Foundations of Project Leadership.

✅ The first Module is complimentary and is designed for analysts and technically-minded professionals who want to run projects with confidence. learn.dataprepu.com

AI is impressive, but it’s still just a tool.

The real value comes from how you prompt, refine, and shape its responses to fit your voice and goals.

I’m in the camp that says AI won’t replace jobs—but people who know how to use it effectively will.

Be curious. Be clear. Lead the process.

For the first time in a while, I’m really enjoying what I’m doing. Working on Foundations of Project Leadership reminded me how little vanity metrics matter compared to building real community around meaningful work.

If you’re curious, Module 1 is free:

I've never loved the idea of mailing off my DNA to anyone who isn’t my doctor. With 23andMe filing for bankruptcy, I’m even less comfortable.

What happens to all that genetic data now?

If you’ve used 23andMe and want to take back control, here’s how to delete your data:
How to Delete Your Data From 23andMe
DNA-testing company 23andMe has filed for bankruptcy, which means the future of the company’s vast trove of customer data is unknown. Here’s what that means for your genetic data.

I know this seems like a small thing, but I honestly expected a much closer split! In my everyday conversations, it feels like I hear “dah-ta” way more often. But the results are in, and 96% of you say “day-ta”—which, for the record, is correct. 😁

Data (day-ta) or Data (dah-ta)? Growing up watching Star Trek: The Next Generation (TNG for those in the know), I always heard it as “day-ta”. That stuck with me, and it’s how we pronounce Data Prep U. That said, I know plenty of people pronounce it “dah-ta”, so now I’m curious—how do you say it?

I ran an experiment with OpenAI’s Sora…and the results were fascinating.

Backstory: I wanted some fun b-roll for a video I made for my mom’s 70th birthday. She grew up in Pittsburgh in the ‘60s & ‘70s and often talked about taking the trolley downtown to watch the Pittsburgh Pirates play ball...
