The BFI are releasing a dual format remastered version of Slade In Flame. Just thought I'd mention it as it's usually one of those hard to find/really expensive ones. shop.bfi.org.uk/slade-in-fla...
Pre-Order: Slade in Flame (Dual Format Edition)
The chart-topping Glam-rock band Slade play a semi-fictionalised version of themselves in this cult classic pop music film from 1975.

Took a trip down the Ayrshire coast. Really liked the way this random phone snap turned out. Snowy mountains of the Isle of Arran in the distance.

If you see this post a concert picture you took this year.

It's a little known fact that Santa drops the bags of presents off on Arthur's Seat before coming back to deliver them when everyone has gone to bed. Season's greetings, whichever way you do or don't celebrate.

The second verse could so easily be a Cure lyric.

On the telly tonight. I went to see this in the cinema a few weeks ago. It's really well researched with some great interviews. Well worth a watch. It'll be on iplayer after broadcast. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m...

Varied selection of stamps on my mail this morning. I much prefer these to the regular barcode ones.

Had a walk along the new Roseburn to Dundee Street cycle path which opened today. It looks fairly indestructible. #Edinburgh

This is an excellent (and reassuring) read.
We've reached album of the year list o'clock

Is anyone else feeling out of the loop and disconnected from all the records bubbling up in a deluge of lists?

Why you're not out of touch with music
Is this feeling of disconnection a rare thing that unites "us"?

Today's charity shop find. It feels appropriate to go and sit in a boozer somewhere to read it.

This compilation from @ianrankin1.bsky.social arrived today. The sleeve notes are perfect. I used to ask my mum to get me stuff from Kirkcaldy Bruce's. Years later I met someone who worked there and he remembered my mum as the mysterious respectable lady who asked for the most obscure records.

I recently became a great uncle, so I have purchased some music to entertain the child when he comes to visit. Photo of Martyn by me from the seven deadly sins show in 2008

42 years ago today, @rsxthecure.bsky.social handed me a plastic cup of red wine & orange juice with the words ‘it’s the national drink of Yugoslavia,or something’. Tonight I’ll toast the fact he’s still making music that resonates with the same intensity as it did in those faraway teenage years.

Today's drama. Amazon deliver my parcel to a completely different building. I have a lucky guess and manage to track it down but the porch pirates have been and ripped the parcel open. Luckily Emily Dickinson poetry isn't to their taste and my book is still there.
