I don’t think I’ll ever get bored of making cool websites.
Been playing with figma make for a bit. It’s so close to being a good product.

But also, have you ever wanted to see all possible solutions to a board game?

I often see engineers getting surprised by this but tabs navigation should be arrow based, similar to radio buttons. So keyboard / screen reader users don't have to go through all the tab items before getting to the content 👀

If someone says “bridge the gap between design and development” one more time, I’m gonna lose it

You can see the amount of bots visiting websites has been going up significantly. You ask a question about JavaScript and they go suck in 40 pages and it distills it down.

Big note: anything you build into your process (using a specific software, a plugin, an api) all of it could go away with acquisitions, increased costs, or even internal capacity/funding for any specific tools.

Any robust system should be tool agnostic, outcome based, and have good fallbacks

lol, I gotta remember to keep my best ideas close to my chest.

Was taking part in a pilot at work and shared how I was making their tool work for me, only to have them tit-for-tat release my workflow as a feature of their tool the next week.

So uh, is this civil war 2?

How many zoom meetings does it take for you to finally put on pants for the day?

Guess who’s moving back to the Seattle area because they got a job as a design technologist up there!

👆🏼
Uh, so I got a new job and I’m coming back to Washington finally 😅

Idk, the commute from my bed to my desk is still about 40 minutes…

When your old design system team finally implements the plan you and your coworker put in place and they celebrate it like they didn’t fight it the whole time and force you out… I’m not peeved, no not at all.

Back on the job hunt, I guess.

What's new?
February 26, 2025 at 8:45 PM
lol my coworker and I have now made possibly one of the coolest pipelines for design system library analytics across code and design and I’m really mad that I can’t show any of it.

Data at that level will probably never be approved by corp.

How do y’all get permission to share your stuff?

Time to build some custom visualization graphs of all this now…

Why doesn’t any charting library support react 19 yet? Do I need to do this all by hand?
Finally built a thing I’ve been chasing for a few years now. The foundational layer to quantify a design system’s impact across the organization.

Also, Figma’s analytics API sucks. Lol

Idk why, but the Figma API is hilariously restrictive

I can see a team name and the org it belongs to in the UI, but if I go to use the API all I get is “user does not have access to this team”

Like, what I’m trying to do requires me to jump through so many endpoints that I need my own server

Almost got this design where I want it. Still have plenty of tweaks I want to make and need to figure out the animations on the blueprints page.

I’ll go over and refactor a lot when I get more content in

Darn, I was hoping they would keep the implementation details for devs.

I’m excited for this app to blow x out of the water. I miss all my creative designer or developer friends that I made on there.

Really hoping this will be the same as that was

Nothing says creative like using 3 font styles, and 4 different typefaces

I’ve been unemployed since January 2023 and actively looking for a Senior UX/Product Designer with full-time opportunities in healthcare, biotech, or ed-tech. Appreciate it if you can share my portfolio or buy me a coffee. Thank you.💛

Haha, leave it to me to make a simple Figma plugin that syncs design and GitHub and turn it into a huge CI/CD process that outputs platform specific libraries/packages.

I’m never saying “it’ll be a simplified process” again.

Doing continuous delivery involves a lot of developer magic wand stuff 🪄✨

Hi I’m Darian and I’m exhausted.

Gotta remember to not do everything myself all the time 😅
