@myke.social talking about broken Spotlight, Clipboard History has been completely broken for weeks on my Mac and nothing I’ve tried has fixed it. Zero history showing. Ugh.

For makers of products that seem to purposefully interfere with password managers working properly on your login screens... why?

In what world does this result in any behaviors that are better for security?

Nothing like waking up in the middle of the night groggily worrying about who will take care of us when we’re old and senile.

Then remembering how much progress has been made in humanoid robots and that we’ll definitely have an attentive robot nurse by then and we don’t have to worry about it 😂😴

Brb, going to look in the couch cushions for $14k USD to get half a terabyte of RAM and be able to run 600B parameter LLMs locally!

This season of Severance is killing it. What a great episode last night, wife and I just spent an entire hour-long walk talking through the implications and questions.

Great work @benstiller.redhour.com!

I’ve been experimenting with different video models and I have to say that Kling is my favourite so far by quite a margin

Very proud of the product video I made for my AI email tool, Delegate! It was my first time diving into After Effects and motion graphics, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Being able to work on diverse projects is my favourite thing about indie building.

I've been making a product video in After Effects (lots of fun, highly recommend) and it's crazy how quickly my opinion of my M1 Pro with 32GB of RAM has gone from "this computer will last me another 5 years" to "this is literal garbage and I want to spend $4000 on a new computer"

Dogs are maybe the best and most pure “good” in this world. So much upside and love for such little “cost”
They give us unconditional love, devotion & loyalty.

They are a reliable source of peace, joy & contentment.

That they have made this a better world is an undisputed FACT.

Has anyone worked extensively with the OpenAI Realtime API?

I’m finding it’s struggling very hard to understand my voice compared to the Advanced Voice Mode, and I’m hoping it’s due to audio handling that can be tuned and not just that it’s very bad.

Yes. This experiment will work if you make it your own. Customize your experience, build new ones, make a social network that can be controlled by the people who use it an idea we do not go back on.
The deep goal of bluesky is to decentralize the social internet so that every individual controls their experience of it rather than having it be controlled by 5 random billionaires. Everyone thinks they signed up for a demuskified twitter...we actually signed an exciting and bizarre experiment.

Wow, o1 is out of preview, and OpenAI has introduced a Pro mode that’s available in a $200/month plan?! Crazy 🚀

Is this something more people want? I'm thinking of creating feeds for 7D, 30D, 90D inactive accounts.

Based on how Feeds work (lists of posts), it would be a reverse-chronological list of the most recent post (including replies) for each account you follow, starting from 7/30/90 days ago.
Is there a feed for inactive accounts? It'd be a great way for me to unfollow accounts that went dormant.

It's official: I've launched my first product: Delegate! 🎉

It took much longer than I thought it would when I started, and there's so much more to build, but I'm thrilled to push it out the door.

Delegate has a very narrow focus for now: it reads every email so you don't have to.

I can’t be the only indie maker to get lost in the zone for hours at a time.

Reminder to get up and MOVE every so often. Helps your heart, helps your head, helps your waistline.

Taking the time to get the juices flowing will probably make you more productive in the long run.
Grateful to have contributed to this fascinating study led by Dr. Liye Zou on how short exercise breaks during sitting can sharpen cognitive function and enhance brain and microvascular health.

Here's the breakdown 🧵 👇

Has anyone built a tool for 🦋 yet that allows you to see how active your followers are, both engaging with you and on 🦋 in general?

For ex., if you have 1000 followers, how many have liked anything in the past X days, posted, etc?

What’s great about 🦋 is that it’s open to builders in the truest sense. No hostile and locked down APIs, which means the community can experiment and create real value for everyone.

Breath of fresh air!

Launching Delegate on Monday!

It will be a huge change in my work time allocation.

My plan is to start with a 2h coding block first thing, and the rest of the day on distribution/SEO/content/customer outreach/etc.

Would love to hear how other indies plan out their days!
