There appear to be at least three separately operating heel factions breaking things within the government in wholly different ways right now. There's the Miller-headed immigration one, the DOGE/Elon one, and a Project 2025 OMB one. This dynamic hasn't showed up in mainstream reporting at all.

Republicans can't stop railing about how unsafe DC, but that's mostly a racist dog whistle. I keep thinking about how the gutting of the federal workforce will decimate the local DC economy, which will inevitably lead to more petty crime and unsafe streets 1/2

Yes and no. Getting news from influencers is like ONLY reading the opinions section. Journalistic integrity is a thing you have to worry about. But you're not always going to find it in what people call 'news'. Yeah, PBS is one of the 'good' ones, but be judicious when consuming legacy media.
A while back I asked folks why they’re joining Bluesky and the most common response I saw was, “I just want a good place to get my news” and, yall, no. Bad.
