Christmas Day I had the idea to cut down some old railway trees to make Xmas trees to go with my Xmas figures. Unfortunately every time I glue flock on the bases it turns yellow.🎅 I think I will spray them white.

I’m very happy with my #FestiveTankChallenge2025 Sherman. It’s lighter than the Stuart that I made earlier using the same rattle can method, which is probably due to the wash I used. Yesterday I went through my stock of 1/35th scale Sherman pile and decided that being retired now I should make them.

Battle Wagon progress. I’ve had issues with getting the roller and arm in proportion. I think I’m going with the thinner option.

#FestiveTankChallenge2025 this is finished except for the Matt coating. This will probably make it semi gloss for a few days so am taking photos before hand.

As well as the FestiveTankChallenge I have had time to repair a trukk that I bought for less than half price which needed the rear axles etc glueing back on. It also had a sticky wash over it which I cleaned off. Also my old Landraider which will be a Battlewagon.

#FestiveTankChallenge2025 has started but I’ve lost a day as I have not been keeping up with my feed. I set this aside for the build. It should be an easy build as I’m flying solo for most of the Xmas break.

Yesterday I played DBMM with my Ancient Brits against EIR Romans. A bystander asked if we were replaying the Battle of Wattling Street. I said that I hope not, but unfortunately my Brits ended up running away after a very hard battle.

Today I played Battlegroup with my German pioneer force. Things went very badly. I lost three Stugs, an armoured car and never got any artillery shots off. My opponent had no losses, not even a pin.

Yesterday I extended one of my local walks and found the edge of a local quarry. Found it very photogenic and looking like something out of LoTR. The actual one used is a few kms further north of here.

I think that this was a good method to undercoat these figures. It only took one session rather than my usual three or four attempts to cover everything.

A mix of Airfix and PSC British 20mm equipment just done. I have towed as well as firing 6pdrs as I have so many of them.

Finished rebasing these figures. I only broke two shields and one figure off its base. I also reused the old tuffs.

Horrible job rebasing. Had to destroy the old 30mm deep mdf ones and replace with the correct 20mm ones. Getting the figures to fit was very fiddly and some overhang quite a bit.

Played DBMM again today. I tried a four command formation instead of my usual three. My opponent had an almost mirror image of my Ancient Brits. My two allied commands went unreliable from the start. My opponent had one of his also unreliable. I struggled to get mine in line. 10 to 15 loss to me.

For #Orktober I painted two Gorka Morka Nobs plus some plastic boys I bought second hand which had been stripped and primed already. Annoyingly I found some sprue nubs on them when painting but am really happy with them. I have a Warboss and two metal Nobs to go with them that I am painting.
