What movie moment made you exclaim…

“THIS IS CINEMA” 🖤

Danny thinking that CJ likes goldfish will forever be funny.

Yup.

I believed the staff on The West Wing were good at governing and knew their shit.

And I believed the staff on SportsNight were good at putting on their show and knew their shit.

Everything else on Studio 60-- all the character stuff was just as good and brilliant as those other Sorkin shows.

YES! The 30 Rock scenes with the bears fighting a robot, or the fart machine that had too many farts in it-- you KNEW how unfunny that was-- and the way it was unfunny-- and THAT became the funny part about the people working on the show.

...they had to show a montage of her performance with music over it, and cut aways of people laughing at how funny the character was. They NEVER showed any ACTUAL funny bit from any of her sketches. And that was such a tell.

I remember an episode where one of the cast had developed a character that was based on commedia dell'arte. And part of the plot was that only she had faith in the character and everyone else thought it wasn't funny.
And she does the character live-- and it's a hit.
But to SHOW you it was a hit...

I really enjoyed it, but it had one central flaw.
The actual show they were producing was NEVER funny.
But it was important to the plot and characters that they WERE producing a funny show.
Everyone kept TELLING you they were funny when it came to their jobs, but they could never actually show it.

I shouldn't look at social media.
It's just 4 to 6 different scandals w/ this current administration. How they're failing/not failing/ruining peoples' lives.
And they're all so stupid, obvious, and (in a sane world) avoidable.

I miss the old man who liked ice cream, riding trains, and being boring.

According to Trump, if Canada starts making deals with China, China will take hockey away from them!

And then... um... maple syrup!
And... uh... all of their moose!
And... er... Michael J. Fox!

(Shh. He's crazy.)
The President of the United States is officially holding the Stanley Cup hostage

It finally happened.

My parents finally LIKED a TV show I recommended. 😵

They... they... they said they can't wait to watch Season 2.

What universe am I in?

This is very much a glitch-in-the-Matrix situation going on here.

(The show, btw, was LUDWIG.)

You can honorably represent your country, its spirit, and its principles while being openly opposed to its current administration.

Sometimes doing that is a sign you're honoring America.

And doing that while those in power attempt to bully you, that makes you champions both on and off the field.

None of the heroes in Marvel Comics should be as old as me. :)

Random memory:
I remember being on a bus for a school trip when one of my friends held up the 1st pop top can of soda any of us had ever seen. We'd only had pull tabs.

I remember him drawing everyone's attention.
He said "THIS is the future."
And popped the top.

And his soda sprayed all over him.

I honestly don't think there's anyone there who will say no to him about anything. He'll Sharpie up some hurricanes and then they'll jump to attention and release new weather advisories. I don't think he can Mad-King-it-up hard enough for anyone around him to do anything about it.

The one thing I don't think you need for the show:
Having the Academy ALSO be a ship that can fly, fight, etc. With a bridge & an entire additional bridge crew.

The Academy staff & students (and those from the opposing school), are all you really need. Same for the Academy grounds in San Francisco.

The 5th episode of ST: STARFLEET ACADEMY is my favorite so far. That was some good Trek!

I think it took the Pilot and 2nd episode to set all the pieces to where they needed to be. And I know that can feel like "homework" to watch as a viewer...

But Episodes 3, 4, & 5 have been great. I'm all in.

The staffer story/excuse is to give members of the GOP a talking point for why they're not condemning Trump.

1. It was not an accident.
2. It was not a staffer.
3. While the president may have dementia his racism is not due to dementia.
4. He isn’t sorry. He means every racist thought he shares.
5. His base agrees with him.
6. He will do it again.
7. No one in power will hold him accountable.

SUPERMAN CHAINS OF LOVE #1.
On the racks now. :)

Yesterday's stories had good hooks:

A regular citizen of Metropolis wakes up in Bizarro World.

Why Ben Grimm wanted to be a pilot more than anything.

I have 3 more shorts set for 2026. (The one for Spider-Man/Superman #1 is already wrapped and in the drawer!)

Can't wait for you to see 'em

Back in BATMAN ADVENTURE days, I had a blast doing these. My favorites were:

Batman really made his trophy room for Robin.

The Riddler has to wait in line at the bank.

When a thug knows Batman's code won't let him kill.

The kid who sees the Bat Signal as his night light.
