Apixaban is often the DOAC of choice for cancer-related VTE because its safer than rivaroxaban (quoted thread)
Its also cheaper in UK.
Further, this systematic review found reducing apixaban to 2.5mg BD after 6 months reduced bleeding risk without increasing VTE recurrence

Anyone been skiing in Trysil, Norway before? What’s the food situation- are there restaurants/shops to enable self catering or is it a full-board or starve kinda operation?

In people with cancer-related VTE (NEJM, RCT, n=1766), dropping their apixaban to 2.5mg BD after 6 months was non-inferior for VTE recurrence and led to fewer clinically relevant bleeding complications

Letter in today’s @theguardian.com from me and 34 other health and care professionals on the assisted dying panels.

Unfortunately they have cut 33 signatories - including social workers, psychiatrists, geriatricians.

This must be corrected.

Dear @theguardian.com Why have you culled 33 signatories from our letter in today's Observer? Mainly medics, responding to last week's full signatory letter on #AssistedDying? www.theguardian.com/theobserver/...
