Recently read through a course catalogue and got so excited about some of the classes. It’s such a good feeling.
Never mind the jobs you had, tell me five classes you took in college:
1. Marine Biology (we got to go out on a boat!)
2. The History of the Holocaust
3. Logic and Critical Thinking
4. Eastern Religions
5. The French Revolution
Never mind the jobs you had, tell me five classes you took in college:

1. Origins of Nazism
2. Dante’s Divine Comedy
3. Behavioral Ecology & Conservation Biology
4. Principles of Evolution
5. Thinking and Speaking About Thinking and Speaking

Don’t discount the West during the 250th anniversary celebrations this year. Learn more about the history of the Presidio of San Francisco in my article for National Geographic.
The Presidio of San Francisco is celebrating its 250th anniversary
While much of the country’s attention will be on the East Coast to mark the anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, another important moment will be marked on the West Coast.

The arrests of journalists Don Lemon and Georgia Fort are a test for every MSM member with a platform. If you are not voicing your outrage at this blatant violation of the First Amendment, you are utterly discredited as a journalist.

If you didn’t make calls yesterday, it’s not too late to do so today. It won’t take long. You have time.
if you're not in the war zone, i hope you're spitting nails into a congressperson's voice mail today. unlikely you'll get a real person because it's the weekend, but for the folks that hate to make phone calls, go fill up some voice mail. this is shameful, our reps should be ashamed of themselves.

A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.

Wake up. Make breakfast. Do email. Watch a murder. Go to a party for a 5 year old. Laugh with my daughter. See a different angle of that murder. Hear govt officials slander the victim. Play Barbies with my kid. Feed her dinner. Tear up at that victim reading last honors to a vet. Put kid to bed. USA

I missed this the first time around, but I’m glad I read it today. It’s chilling.
I will never forget the chill I felt the first time I read "About Face" by @natepowell.bsky.social

I didn't want to accept what it said about the future that is now staring us in the face

I encourage everyone to read it now that we no longer have a choice

A book visibility and search presentation strategist emailed me yesterday about marketing a book she thought was mine. Before I could respond, she sent a snotty follow-up because I didn’t reply promptly. She must be very successful.

While I don’t generally follow the social trends, the 2016 throwback has made me review a lot: how my family traveled together and how we made connections at home and around the world. I have so many hopes for us all, as well as for our children. Take good care of yourselves and your neighbors.

Without revealing your actual age, what's something you remember that if you told a younger person they wouldn't understand?

I need people to wrap their minds around the fact that here in Minneapolis, ICE broke the window of a vehicle yesterday, pepper sprayed the occupants, and arrested them, and shot another observer in the face today, and OBSERVERS ARE STILL GOING OUT TO PROTECT THEIR NEIGHBORS AT MASSIVE PERSONAL RISK
I’m eating lunch, I’m having a panic attack, I’m charging my phone, and then I’m going back out to try and keep my neighborhood safe.
