As the result of the assisted dying vote starts to sink in...I just wanted to send love❤️❤️

To all my Disabled friends and colleagues that fought so hard to try and stop the opening of this Pandora's
Box. I salute you.

Some of our worst fears have been realised. The fight has now changed and goes on

Today is another challenging day for many Disabled People as the assisted dying bill is debated and voted on in the UK Parliament. This is a highly emotive issue. Everyone has their opinions. I like many Disabled People am fearful of this bill.

For a number of reasons here’s a list.

I oh so wish this wasn’t true but it 100% is …
When I'm doing access training, people often don't believe me that most buildings' evacuation policy for disabled people is 'get you to a stairwell and hope you're still alive when the fire's put out or people with better equipment arrive'.
I know why the only thing anyone will give us on this is a corporate faux-apology, I know it's about liability, but GOD I just want someone to say "you know what, we fucked up and we're sorry"

stop defending your policy and just acknowledge that it caused so much distress come ON

Everybody deserves to be safe at work.

Our new Fit to Fly checklist is designed to keep performers safe. It gives aerialists working in small “clip and go” venues the info they need to assess the safety of the flying set up.

While it’s great to celebrate successes, bosses can’t ignore the poor pay & practices faced by the workforce #EquityGameOn

I’m always going to support MP’s that are supporting Deaf, Disabled and Neurodivergent people when it comes to these draconian cuts thank you for the support @richardburgon.bsky.social
I've launched this petition calling for wealth taxes, not disability support cuts.

I'll present this in Parliament ahead of any vote on these cruel cuts - as part of the campaign we need to get as many MPs as possible to vote down these cuts.

At the Disability Social Security protests in London this week I had a chat with #PoliticsJoe These cuts are still nonsensical, dangerous, and need to be stopped. As I said during my speech representing @equityuk.bsky.social which I might post later. It's time to move from resilience to resistance

I’m seeing even well-meaning accounts criticise disability cuts as hitting “the most vulnerable.” Reminder: disabled people are not inherently vulnerable. We are vulnerable when governments choose to withhold the resources disabled people need to live dignified and secure lives.
March 28, 2025 at 5:25 AM
Angry thread incoming 🧵Yesterday I went to the Houses of Parliament to protest cuts to PIP. Only today to be totally infantilised by MP’s threatening to take away Disabled people’s “pocket money” how dare you! Our social security enables us to barely if at all meet the extra costs of being Disabled.

At the heart of every attack on disability benefits is the myth disabled people “get perks”: a free car, loads of cash, a life off work. It misrepresents the reality of disability, whilst exploiting low wages and high living costs to make the public envy people in daily pain.
