Just finished "Culture Warlords" by Talia Lavin. Very well done. Seriously she is a fantastic writer. That's 2 books by her now that I have been captivated by and finished within a few days.

I've been listening to @knowledgefight.bsky.social's "Formulaic Objections" episodes in order lately and honestly it's some of the funniest non intentional comedy I've ever heard. Adding in commentary from Dan and Jordan is just the cherry on top of this man made horrors sundae.

If we're being actually intellectually honest it's an order of magnitude more likely that the Israeli government wants to remove what few remaining lifelines exist for the starving people of Gaza than it is the World Central Kitchen collaborated with Hamas on 10/7

In short, it's because they don't care. It doesn't affect them personally, so it doesn't matter. Imperialism, racism and apathy all go hand in hand. I'd rather feel the way I feel every day (helpless, suicidal ideations) than be as dead inside as members of our media appear to be.
Israel killed 100 people in Gaza today. I listened to NPR this evening, and this wasn’t even reported in passing. There was even a report about an initiative to save endangered wolves somewhere, but no mention of the 100 people who were killed in less than 24 hours.

The rhetoric I have heard since the election has been absolutely depressing. Their willingness to throw any marginalized group under the bus instead of considering that they fucked up and have consistently been fucking up for over a decade is pathetic. These people don't care about us whatsoever.
