while I am an advocate for worker’s rights I also tend to think our society is too risk averse

eliminating seen downside risk often means elevating unseen downside risk, an opportunity cost of sorts

it’s good that we can experiment like this and it’s good that we do
Sometimes there are reasons to grant immunities.

I cannot fathom it in this case. Or the political case for allowing your own voters to get killed and leave their survivors (and more voters) without any recourse. (And possibly no source of support except the state, if that.)
BREAKING: The Florida legislature has sent a bill to Ron DeSantis that would protect private space companies like Musk's SpaceX and Bezos' Blue Origin from lawsuits if their workers are killed in an explosion.

The House voted 107-5. The Senate voted 39-0.

bsky is so spicy right now bc everyone is used to only hanging out in their own simclusters and suddenly we’re all in the same room again

ok so around 2020 twitter started doing this thing called "simclusters"

basically the feed algo would group accounts based on their interactions and interests, and then show those accounts each others' posts a lot in the feed

TPOT was one such simcluster
(or that's the theory anyway)

good problems
hackers using automated methods to guess the invite strings, which were too short for this level of demand.

we made them longer to make it much more expensive to guess them in an automated way.
