Garlic and pears are two of my favorite things to grow. The pear blooms are a little early, so there is always a chance for a late frost. That is a problem with a warm late winter in the South. 🌱 #garden #garlic #trees

Small lily plants that I started in trays. They are the result of scaling. Scaling is the removal of the outer scales of a lily bulb to create new bulbs. 🌱 #garden #plant

I never toss my seeds. Some of the flowers I am currently starting are from the 2019 seed catalog. This is my Lupine with a 50% germination success.

Many of us buy new seeds yearly and do not throw out old seeds. I have found that some seeds last past their advised expiration. Has anyone else seen the same thing? Do you test for viability? 🌱 #garden #seeds

Amazing! What a beautiful gift to continue to give.
When Bill Wilson, a co-founder of AA passed, a member of the fellowship took a cutting of an ivy from his garden back to Chicago. Folks he sponsored got cuttings and so on, and on till it got to me. And now I pass cuttings down to the folks I assist in the 12 steps of our program!

How many of us give plants as gifts? 🌱

I've gifted various plants to my mom over the years. I give my brother a lot of vegetable transplants I grow. One Christmas I gave my sister an orange tree per her request. My daughters grow succulents, so I surprise them with plants all the time.
