Text of original tweet: Ritual mountaineering axe with heart‑shaped openwork. Japan. Nanbokucho to Muromachi period, 14th century AD. Forged iron head; wooden shaft spiral‑wrapped with a bronze strip; H 179.8 cm, blade 28 x 25.5 cm. Collection: Nara National Museum. Classified as an Important Cultural Property. Those two hearts are not about romance. In Japan they are inome, the boar’s eye, a very old apotropaic sign cut into weapons, temple fittings and even windows to draw off misfortune and summon courage. RIP to anime director Tatsuya Nagamine. One of the finest adventure anime directors of the modern era. He helped breath new life into long-running series and made them feel altogether vital again. The current One Piece boom wouldn't have been possible in the same way without him.

i dont want to be in a fandom that critisizes the choices of fictional characters like they are human beings. i want to see THEORY and ANALYSIS and STORY STRUCTURE and CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!! I WANT PARALLELS AND MOTIFS AND VISUAL CUES!!!
