I was born in 1958 before vaccinations were common. I had chicken pox but not measles and no idea if I received a vaccination as an adult when I needed to renew tetanus. Because measles was rare. If you’re a geezer, better get your immunity checked out.

“Engineers and executives at the so-called Department of Government Efficiency are drawing healthy taxpayer-funded salaries—sometimes from the very agencies they are cutting.”
We just paid for Elon, X and his mother Maye to be chauffeured on the presidential plane and helicopter straight to the White House where they are staying.

Running up one helluva tab on top of the $38 billion he’s already soaked us for.
Tariffs imposed on Canadian lumber could lead to increased costs for manufacturers who produce toilet paper. During Trump’s 1.0, there were shortages of toilet paper. I believe Trump has a personal vendetta against toilet paper. Perhaps that’s why he kept the classified documents in his bathroom.♻️🤔

@colehood.bsky.social I’m so very sorry this is happening to you and your colleagues. I have nothing but respect and gratitude for the work you all do in America’s interest. Truly, we’re under attack.

@arimelber.bsky.social Carville seems intent on crossing the line from irrelevance to disgrace. I’m a freaking 67yo Clinton-Gore voter and I can’t see what he brings to a current moment he doesn’t even understand. I am getting a lot of reading done nowadays during your timeslot.
The strategist James Carville recently suggested that Democrats “roll over and play dead.” His “call for ‘strategic political retreat’ sure seems like something a lot closer to unilateral disarmament,” @sbg1.bsky.social writes. nyer.cm/kkejiXY

Taking orders from an apartheid loving South African ex-pat with a yen for eugenics, is really just the GOP of my youth in its final form. Except everyone involved is just really stupider.

Statement from the Musk-appointed head of SSA celebrating the deletion of research grants studying the financial security of the older adults and the disabled. Just one way that the richest man in the world is dictating societal priorities. www.ssa.gov/news/press/r...

Still can’t quite take in the loss of Michelle Trachtenberg. Tonight Inwatched S5 Forever, with Joyce’s funeral and Dawn’s attempt to bring her back. That last scene with the sisters grieving in each other’s arms broke me.

Maddow: I think it is a bad mistake to let Joy Reid walk out the door. It is also unnerving to see that on a network where we've got two nonwhite hosts in primetime, both of our nonwhite hosts in primetime are losing their shows, as is Katie Phang on the weekend. I do not defend it.

I can't bring myself to be even a little mad about Biden pardoning Hunter. The values and norms he'd been trying to uphold were obliterated by American voters last month. Why sacrifice your son to a dead god?

As more and more baby boomers sell their homes to move into continuing care retirement communities, they face a growing risk that they could lose everything as the retirement home industry buckles under shaky finances
