Does anybody know what it is Jeff Keighley has actually done in the games industry that matters? At best it seems like he was a rich kid that used his parents’ money to pal around with game devs, and then me made the trashiest awards show known to man.

That frustrating feeling of getting some good setting backstory for the piece you’re working on, but you realize you just wrote a paragraph of exposition and now you gotta go back and see what can be naturally weaved into the narrative.

One of the worst parts of the YouTube algorithm is that it’ll see me look at a trailer for, like, upcoming content for Dead by Daylight, at which point it will go “oh so you’re one of those weirdos that think playing professional-level video games is a smart life choice? Here’s a deluge of videos.”

My “I have no real proof, who cares?” conspiracy theory is that shark attacks are far more common than is reported and they’re a lot more aggressive towards people than scientists say… but that knowledge keeps people from paying a whole lot of money to go to the beach.

I’ve seen so many people discover that Dr. Jeckyll’s physical appearance doesn’t actually change in the story, and while that isn’t technically true, I gotta say people only just now learning “it was always the same guy” is worrying. Is media literacy seriously that dead?

I want to like Street Fighter 6 more than I do, and I like it pretty well enough already. It’s about as solid as a 2D fighter can be. But *jeez,* does Capcom suck with support. “Wanna pay for a battle pass that has skins for that dumb avatar thing and music you’ll never use?”

We watched Weapons on Halloween and it was… fine, I guess? It wasn’t bad, and this household is appreciative of the last third when it turns corny, but I think our hopes were a little too high thanks to social media.

I saw someone’s funding a reanimation of Over The Garden Wall and I have to ask: whyyyyy?
I know the miniseries has fans (I’m one of them), but those reanimations are always hella hit-or-miss and the original is perfect. I don’t need some art student over-animating it in the style of Ren & Stimpy.

GenZ folk that dig Scott Pilgrim perplex me. Like what you like, but I don’t understand how one gets most of the aesthetic and vibe if you weren’t a nerd, a goth, or a scene kid in your early twenties between 2000 and 2008.
