Just a guy who loves the bush, living on Wadawurrung land. I take photos and shoot video. On occasion I post about local environmental issues.

Activism is a real world activity. I have zero tolerance for online reactionary hyperbole.

Block AI slop 🤮.
Kinda seems weird to me that the report on CFMEU corruption is full of "alleged" and "this building developer told us."

And then apparently there is some 15B loss in public funds, with no elaboration or paperwork to underline it.

The whole report stinks, frankly.

If you have people on your life who love PHON.

Now is a good time to point out they have come out in support of police suppression of protest.

Finding common ground and shifting them to the Left is possible. And as always, point them to the Green's fully-costed tax reform.

Just discovering The Greens?

Welcome, they've been trying their best to represent you in parliament for years.

Even those of you who rail against our media overlords have oft fallen victim to their narratives.

The only party in 2026 that represents what we imagine ourselves to be.

Renters are now not only paying the landlord's mortgage, but are now paying increasing electrical costs while our landlords run off-grid. With their cost to install solar and home batteries subsidized by the government.

When do we get some relief for renters @albomp.bsky.social?

Forest turns to scrub, scrub turns to savannah, savannah turns to desert.

Victoria will continue to change & dry. Some of our regional cities will become unviable.

We will need war-like mobilization of the citizenry to mitigate, adapt & remediate.

Impossible under capitalism.

The year is 2035, Boomers litter the halls of decrepit aged-care facilities, no longer able to vote.

The right-wing Labor opposition party is unable to find the numbers or ally with its minor PHON bretheren.

The ruling majority government of the Legalize Cannabis Party votes to annex New Zealand.

Two fires in Victoria burning out of control. Each is larger than the entire Melbourne Metro area.

It's devastating to see so much burn.

My heart goes out to everyone in East Vic. Please stay safe, and don't stay in place. Please save your lives above all else.

I love the colours of the pines that skirt the nearby reservoir. They were getting ready to bloom here.

A family of Currawongs have set up shop in the backyard with three juveniles. These native Australian birds have the most beautiful song.

This ring-tailed possum has been fighting off ravens all week from his sleeping nook.

The ravens are nesting out front and are likely worried this largish ring-tail might raid their nest.

Not shooting a tonne right now while I work on bits and pieces. But I always have a camera when wandering.

Here's some afternoon light illuminating the marsh and distant trees on my walk this afternoon.

You can drive from Ballarat to Daylesford almost wholly via well-maintained roads, through state-forests and plantations, if you're looking to take your time.

I studied film two decades ago but never pursued it. Now, I have the time and equipment, and am learning a lot.

Here are some assorted clips. Just practicing handling and grading.

The hope is to work on a larger project once I hit the bar I've set for myself.

Though I don't shoot on film anymore. I got started on Nikon and Mamiya film cameras. Both medium format and 35mm.

A sandy track cuts a path through burned grasslands towards the Grampians.

Black and white felt right for this, the trees remain blackened and the white sand is stark against the charcoal and browned vegetation.

Grass Trees under moonlight near the Grampians National Park.

The area is still recovering, and not all the grass trees have survived. Disease makes their usual post-bushfire recovery treacherous.
