Very proud today to be a student of Joel Mokyr. An endlessly supportive, knowledgeable, and kind advisor who seems to know everything about economic history. And not to mention an eagle-eyed editor, keen cyclist (at almost 80!), and classical music lover. A totally deserved award!

Canadian cities feel really alive. I live in a Chicago suburb for grad school, and going to Toronto and Montreal over the last few months felt completely invigorating. So many urban neighbourhoods here just feel completely dead much of the time.
What's your hottest take about Canada?
