I think I disagree

using juice can be wonderful for slowing down the rhythm of the game

but I think it also comes down to whether you can couple the motion to the player interaction, and making sure the interface always responds smoothly to the player no matter the circumstances
Game "juice" can be important for game design, but I feel people still - after many years - take it as everything must have it, especially UI. You don't need each letter and box to wiggle or tween.

Hell, no tweening with instant stops and starts is a completely different, legit kinaesthetic design.

and also secretly wish it hadn't focussed so much on story. All the dialogue and cutscenes and camera cut-a-ways really took me away from my own personal journey of climbing up the mountain

no matter how simple a question may be, I always adore adding small opportunities where the player can playfully break the interface and mess about

been working with our local council making playful survey games for our kids, to better understand what kind of playgrounds they want

it’s been such work, but the feedback from everyone has been beyond heartwarming and it genuinely feels like we’re making a difference ☺️🌻✨
