Netflix, Warner Bros., Paramount, Jared Kushner, and Saudi Arabia?

My reaction to @goodworkmb's timely skit about movie mega-mergers.

nataliebencivengaFollow for more news and analysis @nataliebencivenga The House of Representatives just passed a bill that would subject immigrant CHILDREN to invasive bodily searches and keep them in detention instead of releasing them to their family.Let me repeat that for the people in the back: THEY PASSED THIS BILL. LEGALLY ALLOWING THEM TO STRIP SEARCH CHILDREN who are vulnerable, alone and at the mercy of the American justice system. Now it moves to the Senate. While the House of Representatives has passed several horrific immigration-related bills in late 2024 and 2025, none of the search results describe a bill that explicitly or legally allows the practice of “strip searching children” as a standard procedureNormalizing routine strip searches of children in the name of “safety” sets a dangerous and harmful precedent. This further dehumanizing children and teens and is cruel, unnecessary and ripe for abuse. The Supreme Court has warned in the past that strip searches of children are deeply suspect under the law. No statute authorizes routine, non-medical invasive searches of migrant children—current legal frameworks are designed to safeguard their dignity, not take it away. This is not protection. It’s abuse. A system that normalizes this has already lost its moral compass. but what do you expect from an administration more willing to protect predators at every turn than survivors?
