This is something we talked about on the most recent pod - it's the scars from past seasons, not this season, and the false lazy narratives are flying about everywhere!
On the failing to capitalize on City Dropping points narrative here is how things stack up.

Arsenal have had the opportunity 8 times, they have gotten max points 5 times, and picked up points 6 times. So they are 6/8 on picking up points

My new long-read is out. Something for everybody: "the next five actions," the hidden layers of football athleticism, what happened against Liverpool, the new midfield geometry, box arrivals, promising Eze undercurrents, fresh defensive tweaks, and the Return of the Kai.

Oo so close, I dared not predict a Jesus start but had been secretly hoping! COYG!
We've got an Everton Pod cooking, just some audio issues to resolve. In the meantime, for no real reason, my predicted lineup v Palace:

Kepa
Timber - Saliba - Calafiori - MLS
Norgaard
Eze - Merino
Madueke - Gyokeres - Martinelli

Hoping that Rice/Zubi/Saka get a rest, and that Jesus can get a cameo

As expected, the massive rotation having some teething and connectivity issues, but some very bright sparks. Brighton could be three up if they were a bit more ruthless on the break - wonder if they'll regret having rotated so much as well?

I switched streams just after half-time - you're all welcome. Looking forward to podding about this on Monday! Apologies for the late pod this week, we've had technical difficulties (laptops and water don't mix, kids!). But it should be up soon!

In this long-read, I wanted to explore the mental and physical demands of the modern player, how Arsenal are evolving in attack (less width, more box swarming), Timber’s increasing attacking output, and much more.

No pod this week, Robbie's moving house! But we'll hopefully have a bumper IB pod where we can look back and forward, and revel in our league position

100, 200, 300 - and then the all important 1 point clear. Good day for numbers at the Arsenal!

There is very little room to debate Aitana Bonmati’s worthiness of the title of the best in the world, generally.

But after this year, it is a shock the Ballon d’Or did not go to Mariona Caldentey.

Bonmati’s win has exposed a flaw in the voting process, writes

Bonmantí is one of the best in the world, but that doesn't mean the door should be closed for players like Mariona Caldentey

Sorry for no pod this week, I've been out with the flu. Will have a bumper pod next week.

Side note: Russo and Mariona were absolutely robbed, but well done to the Arsenal Women's team! What a season that was....
