Chinese scientists tested a magnetic bacteria pill to detect ulcerative colitis and other GI diseases in mice. Dr. Alan Moss, the Foundation's Chief Scientific Officer, told UPI this approach could one day complement colonoscopies but needs human studies first. https://bit.ly/43FMhFi

A study in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases® found that upadacitinib (an oral version of Rinvoq) helped nearly 50% of people with moderate-to-severe Crohn’s achieve lasting remission and reduce or stop steroid use, helping them manage symptoms and avoid serious side effects. ➡️ https://bit.ly/4oy5KQO

A new oral treatment improved clinical remission and endoscopic outcomes for moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis patients who failed multiple prior therapies, two phase III trials showed.
