Chinese scientists tested a magnetic bacteria pill to detect ulcerative colitis and other GI diseases in mice. Dr. Alan Moss, the Foundation's Chief Scientific Officer, told UPI this approach could one day complement colonoscopies but needs human studies first. https://bit.ly/43FMhFi

A new oral treatment improved clinical remission and endoscopic outcomes for moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis patients who failed multiple prior therapies, two phase III trials showed. New research in Crohn’s & Colitis 360 shows people with IBD using GLP-1 meds—usually for diabetes/obesity—have lower risk of major heart complications. The findings suggest these therapies may offer protective cardiovascular benefits for those with IBD. https://bit.ly/4oBTPkB
